This antique rim lock was manufactured in the late 19th century and has the R. L Co. insignia on both sides. Cast iron, it's designed to be mounted on the face of your door (and it can be mounted on the left or right hand). There is a locking night-latch on the bottom. This rim lock is wonderfully ornate, with raised swirls and on the outer corners and inside edges.
The antique cast iron doorknobs have a delightful design and were manufactured around 1885 by Penn. The design family was named "Magnolia", featuring a classic fourfold floral and linear pattern. The artwork continues onto the backs as well. We include the fancy matching doorplate, beautiful keyhole plate and working newer key.
Doorknobs measure 2 1/4" and round rosette is 2" diameter. Rim lock measures 3 1/4" tall by 4 1/4" wide without catch (catch is 7/8" wide) . Back-set (from edge of rim lock to the center of the doorknob shaft) is 3 1/8".
