This is a complete working Gilbert door set; two wooden knobs, two ornate doorplates, matching strike plate and mortise lock. The doorplates have their patent date of 1886 on the backs. All of the plates are cast bronze with the same Eastlake geometric design. The Gilbert set is unique in that it functions with a lever-actuated movement, rather than a standard rod. In excellent working order, we have acquired a number of these sets. Very rare set.
Doorknobs measure 2 1/8" diameter. Doorplates are 2 1/8" by 5 7/8. Strike plate is 7/8" by 4. Mortise lock plate is 1" by 5 7/8"; backset is 3 1/2". Height of box is 3 5/8"; depth is 4".
