This set includes two ornate doorknobs, round doorplate, one rectangular doorplate, keyhole escutcheon (note the double keyholes) mortise lock with two keys, and strike plate. By Hopkins and Dickinson around 1879, the drum-form knobs have an unusual tenfold pattern (one knob has slight discolorations). The elaborate and beautiful plates still have their swinging keyhole covers. The mortise lock has a brass faceplate and was patented in 1865 by Branford. It has a push-button mechanism and the keys operate nicely.
Mortise lock faceplate is 1" by 6 7/8; box is 3 5/8" deep and 4 3/4" tall. Setback is 2 3/48". Doorplate is 2" by 7"; key plate is 1 3/8" by 3 5/8". Round escutcheon is 2" diameter; jamb plate is 1 1/8" by 4 1/4". Doorknobs are 2 1/4" diameter.
